Govind Namdev, after completing his graduation, joined the prestigious National School of Drama, New Delhi for a three year Diploma course in Acting. He also completed a short term course in Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Here he assimilated the fine nuances of acting and cinema. After passing out of the National School of Drama (NSD), he was a member of the NSD Repertory Company for more than a decade. During this period he acted in a number of national and international plays under the direction of eminent theatre personalities from India and abroad as well.
His first break
on the theatre stage came when he featured in "Tughlak" directed
by the legendary Ibrahim Alkazi whom Govind regards as his guru. However,
it was in the role of King Okkak in "Surya ki Antim Kiran Se Surya
Ki Pahli Kiran Tak", directed by Prof. Ram Gopal Bajaj that he established
his acting prowess. Working
as an actor in the professional theatre group like NSD Reportory Company,
New Delhi, for nearly 12 years, he matured and sharpened the edges of
the actor within. SOME
